Warming

Those at home watching TV because of the virus should watch the Netflix documentary by David Attenborough, “A Life On Our Planet”. It’s about the consequences of global warming and forecasts the effects 100 years hence. At the age of 93 Attenborough is still having a go, a thinker now trying to save the planet. He hopes we can survive this extinction level event caused by human activity. There have been several such events including the extinction of dinosaurs. He suggests we will need more than intelligence to survive, we need wisdom. He describes ways to stop it. I think every human should watch this documentary and support efforts to stop global warming. Attenborough tells us the success of planet Earth was it’s biodiversity which might be restored if we allow the forests and oceans to flourish. Indeed we are ruled by capitalism and always look to turn nature into a profit. We have the technology today to provide for everyone without carbon. He gives a great example of how the Netherlands is the second largest exporter of food globally despite its size.
